Generative AI Policies

AI Use Policy – Jurnal Manajemen dan Kewirausahaan (JMK)

Jurnal Manajemen dan Kewirausahaan (JMK) recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools can support academic writing and research processes. However, their use must be responsible, transparent, and must not compromise academic integrity.

  1. Use of AI by Authors

Authors may use AI tools to assist with tasks such as language improvement, organization of ideas, or literature exploration. However:

- AI must not replace the author’s critical thinking, analysis, and original contribution.
- Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, validity, and originality of their manuscript, including any AI-generated content.
- Authors must carefully verify all outputs, including references, to avoid errors or fabricated information.
- Manuscripts must reflect the author’s own interpretation and scholarly work, not AI-generated content.

  1. Disclosure of AI Use

- Any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation must be clearly disclosed in a dedicated statement upon submission.
- The disclosure should include: (a) name of the AI tool, (b) purpose of use, and (c) extent of use.
- Basic grammar or spelling checks do not require disclosure.

Transparency is required to maintain trust between authors, reviewers, and readers.

  1. Authorship

- AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
- Authorship is limited to humans who can take responsibility for the work.

  1. Data Privacy and Ethics

Authors must ensure that:
- No confidential, sensitive, or unpublished data is improperly shared with AI tools.
- The use of AI does not violate intellectual property rights or data privacy regulations.
- AI outputs are free from bias, plagiarism, or ethical concerns.

  1. Use of AI in Figures and Images

- The use of generative AI to create or modify images, figures, or graphical abstracts is not permitted.
- Minor adjustments (e.g., brightness or contrast) are allowed if they do not alter the meaning of the data.

  1. Use of AI by Reviewers

- Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Reviewers are not allowed to upload manuscripts or review reports to AI tools.
- Peer review must remain a human-driven process, relying on the reviewer’s expertise and judgment.

  1. Use of AI by Editors

- Editors must not use AI tools to evaluate manuscripts or make editorial decisions.
- All editorial decisions must be based on human judgment and academic expertise.
- Confidentiality of submitted manuscripts must be strictly maintained.

  1. Editorial Use of AI Technologies

JMK may use internal or licensed technologies (e.g., plagiarism detection tools) to support the editorial process, provided that:

- Author confidentiality is protected.
- Data privacy standards are upheld.

  1. Policy Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in:

- Rejection of the manuscript.
- Retraction of published articles.
- Other actions in accordance with JMK’s publication ethics.
