This research aimed in explaining the influence of social cliques and social network on the success of hierarchical career with career sponsorship as the intervening variable. The design of this research was explanatory research. Using two stage sampling, the 232 questionnaires were distributed to the manager of state-owned companies (BUMN) at East Java and 108 of the questioner were returned. The result of regression analysis showed that partially and simultaneously social cliques and social network affected the career sponsorship; furthermore the career sponsorship affected the hierarchical career success. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh klik sosial dan koneksi terhadap kesuksesan karir hirarki dengan sponsor karir sebagai variabel antara. Desain penelitian ini adalah explanatory research. Dengan two-stage sampling, 232 kuesioner disebar kepada manajer BUMN di Jawa Timur dan sebanyak 108 kuesioner yang kembali. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial dan simultan klik sosial dan koneksi berpengaruh positif terhadap sponsor karir; selanjutnya sponsor karir berpengaruh terhadap kesuksesan karir hirarki.
